The newly re-branded Transitions Global, whose human trafficking consulting and victim aftercare work now extends beyond Cambodia, was recently featured on the Portland NBC affiliate KGW.
Transitions Global is working with local authorities and social services to develop a secure facility for juvenile sex trafficking victims to feel safe and begin the long road to recovery. The Oregon State Human Trafficking Task Force sees soon-to-be facility much needed not only for the victim’s health, but one of the largest problems with arresting, convicting, and sentencing traffickers is that victims rarely, if ever, receive the services necessary to heal and feel safe enough to testify.
I worked with co-founder James Pond on my last trip in Cambodia and look forward to working with Athena Pond in December. Footage I shot last time was used by KGW to tell this story.
