7 pm start / 8.30 live auction
I am returning to Phnom Penh on November 17 to finish the piece “Cambodia: Victim to Survivor,” supported in part by a small grant from King County 4 Culture Arts and by donations from you.
To help, the Park Pub is generously hosting another Benefit Burger/Beer Night; they are donating $15 of every $25 burger/beer combo. There will be silent and live auctions including signed, large prints for your art collection (or holiday gift) and outdoor goods. And, this print recently went for $1000 in a benefit lottery. Bidding will start low!
Your support last winter helped produce media now in use by four non-governmental organizations (NGO) working in counter-human trafficking and health care; just today I was asked for additional footage for an NBC affiliate. The images and video are also in brochures, newsletters, websites, presentations and PSA’s. Helping these agencies tell their story, raise awareness, and build a donor-base would not have been possible without your support.
This time, I am returning to finish telling the story “Cambodia: Victim to Survivor,” which weaves a figurative Cambodia, represented by a 19 year-old sex trafficking survivor, with a literal Cambodia of government agencies and NGO’s struggling to change post-conflict social norms that are accepting of victimization.
All non-food purchases and donations are tax-deductible as the FEAR Project, a 501(c)3 non profit, is expanding its documentary coverage to domestic and international human trafficking.
Please consider coming out for a burger, beer, and a short slideshow.
